Golf Driving Range Lighting
2022: The Golf Driving Range lighting at the HQ of the Golf Union of Ireland at Maynooth, Co Kildare is a state-of-the-art facility. Part of the Carton House Hotel & Sports complex, the centre is to international standard and used by Clubs/Teams such as Chelsea and Real Madrid Football Clubs, the Leinster Rugby Team etc for training and recreational breaks. Golf Range Floodlighting
VeeLite designed and supplied the original Floodlighting scheme in 2006 and the new scheme in 2022, when the Floodlights were upgraded to LED version, with significant energy savings.
The illumination for this Project consisted of a mixture of 2 Floodlight types with high vertical light levels, even at a distance of 250m. White light was required to highlight the ball. Luminaires were modified to install neatly to the Building and Poles were supplied in a special RAL finish.
The lighting for Golf Ranges usually is located behind the Golfers to provide the highest light level on the surface of the Golf ball that is nearest the Golfer. There are 2 Floodlights shown on the lighting column below – one to illuminate the it Ball as it climbs high initially and the second Floodlighting for illuminating the ball as it travels in excess of 200m away. A solid curtain of trees is useful as a backdrop to provide background contrast to the colour of the golf ball, as well as to prevent light spill or glare outside the Golf range site. The Car Park Lighting is also supplied by VeeLite.
