Railway Lighting

Railway Lighting

VeeLite has been a Supplier to Irish Rail for Railway Lighting Projects for many years.  This typically includes Car Parks, Streetlights and Floodlights, used typically for Station Car Parks, access roads, Level Crossings, Storage Yards, sidings and internal Highbay type lighting for Workshops and Concourse areas.

These are typically large areas that lend themselves very well to VeeLite’s Product range. With high performance optics we achieve wide distances between our lighting poles. In the case of railway lighting, this saves light poles and luminaires and leads to lower installation costs. Aesthetically, the project looks better – more minimal and less clutter.  There is also more space for storage or parking.

Luminaire and other benefits include energy efficiency, durability, robustness, minimal maintenance and warranty.

To achieve the optimal layout and most efficient solution for a lighting Project, we use Autocad and lighting software and we design to CIBSE light level standards or BS/EN standards, or specific other Standards depending on circumstances.

The photos shown here include both old and new projects. The following projects are displayed:
– Parking lot lighting – In large parking lots with many lights and also in small areas with only 1 light. This lighting does not allow for brightening, which is a preference for the environment and dark skies at night.
– Street lighting – If the area is large, the VeeLite lights can provide street lighting, but also illuminate the entire area.
– High Pole Floodlights – These LED floodlights are often installed on light poles which can be 16m, 18m, 20m, 24m etc. These are particularly suitable when higher light levels are required, e.g. for work areas.
– Low elevation floodlights (at railroad crossings, etc.) – The lighting calculations for these areas are complex and VeeLite is experienced in this activity.
– High racks in a train station – Vertical light planes next to the train attract particular attention – where people get on and off the train.
