Harbour & Port Lighting

Special challenges and requirements often apply in Marine and Harbour areas.  This is mainly from exposure to high winds and a corrosive salty atmosphere.  Standard aluminium grades may deteriorate so the grade of aluminium or a marine paint finish can slow this process, in addition to Stainless steel fixings.  The high winds can lead to intense vibration so a higher standard of robustness and construction is needed. 

Veelite offer Marine grade LED Floodlights for Harbour or Port Lighting or for use on Container Cranes. We also offer Streetlighting, Carpark lighting, Stainless Steel Bollards, etc which all offer higher protection that standard Lighting Products.

This LED lighting was a refit from earlier HPS Streetlights and is now well illuminated with quality white light and without glare, light spill or uplight. A feature of the OptraLED is the wide spacings between Poles which has economic savings on new Projects (Less Poles, wiring, Bases, trenching, etc).  

This Pier is now used frequently at night time, by both Tourists, Walkers as well as Fishermen and Boat owners.  The 5 new OptraLEDs  have made the Pier brighter, safer, more welcoming and attractive.  

Options offered include Part-night dimming, Dali, CLO (Constant Light Output), RAL finishes, photocell, motion sensor control, etc.

This Pier was illuminated with LED Street lights, which provide a high level of illumination with good uniformity and is approved by many of the Local Authorities for use on their own Streetlighting projects.

This Streetlight can also be supplied with CLO (Constant Light Output) and/or Programmable Dimming, usually at no extra cost.  CLO ensures the output of the Luminaire stays constant over the life of the Luminaire (typically up to 100,000 hours). Programmable Dimming enables automatic dimming to be programmed into the Luminaire to provide part-night dimming for example.  In this case, the Light may dim automatically to 50% after midnight for example.
