Large Areas usually require a functional and efficient lighting solution, and also sometimes a good appearance, if it is a public area.  For Industrial areas,  High Mast Floodlights can provide high level levels with very few Poles.  However, the Poles may be 15 to 24M high and be highly visable, so this is often not suitable. They are used in Harbours, Ports, Airports, Railways etc.  In these Projects, the number of Poles needs to be minimised so there are very few obstructions on the Ground and a high lighting level is achieved, often illuminating objects (Ships, Planes, etc) that are also high above ground level.

Most of the time, it is more practical and efficient to use mid range powerful LED Luminaires like VeeLites Car Park or Area Lights.  These are typically installed on 8m to 12m lighting Poles.  With optics to 500w LED, they are often located up to 60m apart on 10m Poles.

One SupraLED Luminaire can illuminate an area of 50m x 50m.  Four Luminaires would light an area of 100m x 100m.  For lower mounting heights (example 6m), a lower wattage LED optic can be chosen.  The fitting is also offered with a Tripod for decorative effect.  Service Life exceeds 100,000 hours.

The wide spacings achieved between lighting columns saves on initial capital and construction costs such as Luminaires, Poles, groundworks and concrete bases, underground wiring/trenching etc. 

Other benefits include the extra space provided by minimising Poles (eg. extra parking spaces) and the improved appearance from the reduction in column clutter.  Ongoing benefits include less maintenance, energy running costs, etc.
